GROUP FINANCIAL CONTROLLER - Beith Office

Salary: Commensurate with Experience

This new role requires an outstanding commercial individual, with experience in International Operations, Foreign Exchange & Financial Markets, Acquisitions & Joint Ventures. You will have the opportunity to influence the group at board level.

Highly motivated, independent, and forward thinking. You will have a proven track record in managing a team, and also hands on experience of financial reporting. 

The Role

As Group Financial Controller, it will be your responsibility to manage the group's Finance & Credit Control Department, all financial processes, review costing models, stock costing, and provide high quality accurate financial reports to the Board. Support the management team through acquisitions & joint ventures, and advice and ensure compliance with any new regulatory & statutory requirements.   

Responsibilities 

  • Knowledge of Foreign Subsidiary Accounts.
  • Prepare Annual Budgets for the Group & assist in preparation of the Business Plan and other strategic plans.
  • Preparation of the Annual Accounts, liaison with auditors and tax advisors
  • Preparation of monthly Management Accounts, including Board and bank reporting
  • Liaising with regulatory bodies, financial institutions & Enterprise companies to maximise the group's financial position.
  • Maintain controls across the group
  • Oversee payroll function
  • Ensure staff are managed effectively

Experience:

  • You should be a qualified accountant ideally with at least 5 years post-qualification experience
  • Experience preparing statutory Accounts, Budgets and Forecasts
  • Team management experience is essential
  • Skilled project manager, who can review and improve procedures
  • Excellent IT skills will be required Excel, Microsoft Dynamics/AX

You will provide best in class customer service which includes organising, co-ordinating and managing total demand to support the delivery of the commercial and operational goals whilst meeting customer expectations

Key responsibilities:

  • Build strong relationships with customers, providing best service experience at every opportunity through timely responsiveness, courteousness and proactive problem solving
  • Process sales orders, ensuring customer attributes are met in line with agreed terms of sale
  • Ensure documents are prepared accurately and in a timely manner
  • Support service improvement initiatives
  • Account management
  • Complaints management

 The successful candidate will have:

  • Customer service experience in a drinks environment (preferable but not essential)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines in a high paced environment
  • Microsoft Office experience in Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Focused work ethic with attention to detail being of prime importance
  • Interest and passion for wine

    • WSET Level 3 or above
    • Preferably Glasgow based
