With the same chalk soil as the northern
French region and a similar climate, the classic Champagne
varieties thrived in their West Sussex vineyard sites.
Now the largest vineyard in the UK, Nyetimber Estate has 438
acres under vine and is the only producer to make premium sparkling
wine exclusively from estate grown fruit.
It's this control of every stage of the process, from the
vineyards to the winemaking that sets the wines apart. The secret
of their success lies in the fact that these are terroir driven
wines and therefore the fundamentals of geology, soil and aspect
are the principle factors in the meticulous selection of all
Nyetimber have certainly achieved their goal, winning up to 65
awards since the maiden vintage in 1992.
