Bodegas El Lagarto, Arribes

Full and flavoursome wines from North West Spain

Bodegas El Lagarto is a winery covering several different appellations close to the Portugese border in North West Spain. Planted with indigenous varieties such as Bruñal, Juan García, Bastardillo Chico, Rufete, Albarín and Tinta de Madrid, the vines range from 70 to 160 years old in some places.

Working in a holistic organic fashion although not certified, production of the wines is small and only several hundred cases of each are made, although the quality is high and the likes of Jancis Robinson rate these wines highly.

Very enjoyable and drinkable wines!
