Viña Elena. DO Jumilla

New to Alliance in 2012, Viña Elena was founded in 1948 by Francisco Pacheco, the grandfather of the four sisters who run the winery today.

Originally named Bodegas Pacheco, the winery was renamed after the eldest daughter of the current generation, Elena.

As you might expect from this region, Monastrell is king but the family vineyards also include other key international varietals such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. It is the blending of these with the indigenous Monastrell which really sets these wines apart from others in the region.

Viña Elena work 800 hectares of old vines which lie 500 meters above sea level. Set within the semi-arid, hilly landscape of northern Murcia in the south-east of Spain, Viña Elena produce full-flavoured, well-coloured grapes which in turn produce wines full of character.

Trained using the traditional Spanish method 'en vaso', the wines produced by Viña Elena are thoroughly Mediterranean in style, certified organic and offer outstanding value.
