Covid - 19 Update 27th March 2020

A message from Miriam Spiers, Sales Director, Alliance Wine

Dear Customer,

I know that we are all hearing the same messages every hour of the day. The message is clear – we all need to take it very seriously. Stay home, if we can. We all need to work to ensure that we, and all our staff, are safe and protected as much as possible.

With Wednesday's clarification, we now know that wine retail can, and is, staying open for the time being. Many of you are very busy with deliveries, supporting your local business. Many wine websites have closed and supermarkets are restricting purchases so the pressure on those of you providing deliveries will only increase.

Complying with Government Guidelines
Alliance is doing everything that we can to carry on delivering whilst keeping our employees safe. We are ensuring that when our employees need to be in the warehouse they work at least two metres apart, wash their hands regularly, clean and sanitize all work stations and contact points regularly throughout the day.
They are separated into different areas and buildings, operating different shifts, which mean fewer people on site at any one time. In short, we are doing everything we can to keep everyone safe.

Deliveries
These rules combined with increased demand is slowing us down. Therefore I want to ask you all for your patience regarding deliveries.
We cannot now guarantee next day delivery, but we will deliver to you as soon as it is possible. I understand that this is frustrating as you have your customers and your orders to make up, but rest assured that we are doing our very best. We have everybody working safely and as they can to make all this happen.
We are intending to carry on working and delivering as long as we are allowed to. We are certainly planning to run a (almost) normal service next week, apart from our usual guaranteed next day delivery. It might still happen next day, but we cannot guarantee it.
Thank you for your understanding.

In This Together
I want to say thank you for the many lovely messages that you have passed to our staff. All of these little gestures are greatly appreciated.
We thank you for being with us, supporting us, our staff and supporting all the small producers we represent.

Please above anything else, keep yourself, your families and your staff safe. That is the only thing that really matters. One of the silver linings of this terrible situation is seeing the incredible camaraderie, the support for one another, as we go through this – be it at work or just on the street!

Thank you and stay safe,

Miriam
