Equipo Navazos, La Bota No 94, Oloroso, 'Más allá del NO', Jerez, Spain (37.5cl.)

Producer Profile
Equipo Navazos was born out of a group of friends passion to share the authentic, traditional wines of Jerez de la Frontera, Sanlúcar de Barrameda, El Puerto de Santa Maria and Montilla … legitimately some of the greatest wines of the world!
These wines come from soleras and individual casks that remain, relatively neglected by the market in corners of many of Andalusia’s most prestigious bodegas. These unexpected yet fortunate findings have been made available to wine lovers around the world in limited quantities under the La Bota series (consecutively numbered editions, with the date of each saca or withdrawal date on the label)… in doing so respecting generations of expertise and care for these rare and beautiful wines. Today their efforts are increasingly focused on producing their own exceptional wines, such as Florpower, that truly express the character of Sanlúcar and its unique terroir. Outside of Andalusia, Equipo Navazos have collaborated with winemakers including Dirk Niepoort and Sergi Colet to develop authentic and individual wines that never fail to impress.
Viticulture
It is a winemaking tradition in Andalusia to mark with a “NO” several casks of exceptional quality, keeping them apart from the seasonal sacas that are at the core of the solera system. As a consequence, such wines become more and more concentrate and old. This is the case with this wine.
Winemaking
The selected cask for this wine belongs to a solera of 12 butts known as Vintage 1809, which has not been seen in the market for many decades. Documents from end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century mention this Oloroso as one of the oldest and best wines of the house.

Robert Parkers The Wine Advocate 99 Points
The unique NV La Bota de Oloroso Más allá del NO 94 comes from a single butt of extremely old Oloroso from Valdespino. It's a wine that goes beyond the Bota NO concept, because it's an even older wine that has the signs of very old wine, with extreme concentration, evaporation and high alcohol and acidity. Often such wines are too much, and the rarity is to find a wine where you can mention elegance, as they can be aggressive (and sometimes even painful). This has notes of iodine, coconut, varnish and liqueur, finishing dry and long. Not long, eternal... They bottled 75 half bottles produced. 99 Points, LG, September 2022.
