Bodegas Veracruz, Spain

Bodegas Veracruz is one of the most celebrated wineries in DO Rueda.

Built beneath a local chapel, the bell tower is now home to a pair of storks, inspiring the Veracruz label. This charming wine is one of the finest, if not the finest, example of Verdejo in the world. The proximity to the Duero River provides optimum growing conditions, influenced by Atlantic winds, and contrasting day and night temperatures, both helping the critical balance between acidity and sugar levels in the grapes grown there.

Viticulture

The proximity to the Duero River means that it benefits more from the Atlantic winds, and at the same time, contrasting daytime and night temperatures, both helping the optimum critical balance between acidity and sugar levels in the grapes grown there. Vines are trellised and planted on clay soils with a limestone bedrock.
