Malbec is still very much THE variety from Argentina, representing nearly half of all plantings, so the new challenge for the world's largest producer of this variety is to demonstrate that 'terroir' is every bit as relevant in Argentina as it is in the Old World. With some the country's premium sites in the Uco Valley and Luján de Cuyo going from strength to strength, the future looks very bright for Argentina.

At Familia Zuccardi, the task of identifying the best sites for premium Malbec, and indeed all their varieties, is taken extremely seriously. At the heart of this family winery is the drive to continually improve and with Sebastian Zuccardi heading up their 'Innovation and Experimentation' program, they are literally taking quality to new heights. It has been an exciting time at Zuccardi with their new state-of-the-art winery which opened in time for the 2014 harvest. This breathtaking new building is every bit as impressive as its surroundings, in the heart of the Uco Valley at 1100 metres above sea level with the Andes as it's stunning backdrop.

At Viña Cobos site selection has always been key to producing top tier wines. Paul Hobbs and his team are proud that their range demonstrates not only what Malbec, Cabernet and Chardonnay are capable of, but also demonstrates the strengths and characteristics of individual sites within Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley.
