BODEGAS ANTÍDOTO, Spain
They are wholly committed to preserving the wine-making tradition this region. Their land is unique and special thanks to its altitude, its climate and the peculiarities of the soil that give a unique character to the wines, which is markedly different from other Ribera del Duero wines.
Viticulture
They work hand in hand with vine-growers from the area of San Esteban de Gormaz, with 776 small plots that compose 110 hectares that extend through 15 villages. Flanked by the Central and Iberian Systems, the high plateau crossed by an incipient Duero River draws the groves around the water with poplars, wicker trees and alders, and in the sandy and clay terrain on calcareous rock, vineyards and fields coexist with spontaneous holm oaks. The river divides the red soils to the north from more yellowish and sandstone soils to the south. In all of them, the continental climate of eternal winters and great thermal amplitude reigns, timidly softened by a Mediterranean influence. All these nuances have a marked influence on their wines.
Winemaking
The winery works to follow the script set by each of the wines, utilising the experience of a great team of people, both in the winery and in the vineyards, committed to the vision of rescuing heritage and preserving the unique territory of the vineyards. Their work is complemented by an exhaustive control of all processes, combining skill, technique, respect and soul.
