Alliance’s fine wine sales surge after successful acquisition

Press Release | London, 10th December 2025

After the successful acquisition of H2Vin in the winter of 2024, Alliance Wine has recorded a significant increase in fine wine sales across all channels, marking a major achievement in a challenging market.

Alliance’s fine wine overall sales have grown 30% year-on-year, with sales in the on-trade up 40% and independent off-trade up 15%. In 2025, the company’s fine wine customer base expanded by 18%, while sales, driven by its weekly fine wine offers, soared by 75%.

“This welcome growth underscores the resilient strength of the fine wine category and the trust our customers place in us to deliver these exceptional wines. It’s clear that discerning drinkers are prioritising quality and heritage more than ever, and the fine wine sector is retaining its allure and competitiveness. What is especially pleasing is that we are seeing our fine wines reach a broader section of customers with independent retailers and wholesalers expanding the portfolio of wines they take from us.” says Ned Llewellyn, Alliance Wine’s Off Trade Sales Director.

“The biggest successes we have seen are from classic fine wine regions such as Burgundy, Rhone and Loire, alongside other strong performances from South Africa, Australia, Spain, and Italy. Launching our first formal Burgundy En Primeur campaign this year was a highlight and a turning point for us. It is a great platform that sets the tone for the rest of the year, and for our other fine wine offers, where we can offer such iconic producers as Clos Rougeard, Domaine Didier Dagueneau, and Chris Ringland Wines in addition to those in less traditionally fine wine centric regions such as Equipo Navazos (Andalucia), Pazo Señorans (Rias Baixas) and Raats (Stellenbosch)” explains Matt Wilkin MS, Alliance Wine’s Director of Prestige Sales.

“But this is only the beginning, we are currently finalising our upcoming Burgundy campaign for January, adding a Rhône En Primeur campaign, gearing up for an incredible Brunello vintage release from San Polino, and arranging a schedule of tastings ahead of Paul Hobbs’ market visit in the spring.  In addition, we’ll be composing a comprehensive rolling campaign of fine wine offers for the rest of 2026. It’s getting busier, but we couldn’t be happier with the response from our customers and the success of the campaigns. We still have many retail customers looking to be more creative in how they sell higher value wines, both through offers and off the shelf, and we are working closely with them to help them to do so. It is an important part of who we are, and we want to develop our offering further and build on this momentum,” concludes Ned Llewellyn, Sales Director.

The Alliance Wine Burgundy & Rhône En Primeur Tasting is on January 14 at The Haymarket Hotel, London, featuring 2024 and older vintages of Burgundy and Rhône wines.
