Domaine Hubert Lamy, St Aubin Rouge 1er Cru, Derriere Chez Edouard, Burgundy France, 2018

Viticulture
The Derrière Chez Édouard vineyard is one of Saint-Aubin’s most prestigious Premier Cru sites, renowned for producing elegant and refined wines. Located on well-exposed slopes, the vineyard benefits from a prime position with excellent sun exposure and well-drained calcareous clay soils. These conditions promote slow, even ripening of the grapes, resulting in wines with vibrant acidity, fine tannins, and excellent aging potential.
Winemaking
The grapes are fully destemmed and undergo a 20-day maceration, with extraction techniques adjusted according to the vintage. Aged in barrels that are between one and three years old and bottled after 24 months of aging.
Tasting Note
A rare gem of a wine, the nose offers ripe cherry, forest floor, and subtle vanilla aromas. On the palate, red berries and gentle spice unfold with a smooth, lingering finish.
Food Matching
