Domaine Grand Veneur, Côtes du Rhône Blanc, Blanc de Viognier, Southern Rhône, France, 2024

Producer Profile
Christophe and Sébastien Jaume have now taken over from their father Alain and have carefully expanded the domaine.
The range is exceptional and equally superb in white as in red. ‘La Fontaine’ is consistently one of the best white Châteauneuf and ‘Les Origines’ delivers the appropriate class for a premium cuvée with many international accolades. There is no weak wine here and the well-priced Côtes du Rhône is produced from a vineyard situated only meters away from the famous Château Beaucastel.
Viticulture
The Viognier grapes are grown on clay-limestone soils in the Southern Rhône, cultivated with sustainable methods that respect the terroir and vine health. The vines benefit from cool nights, preserving aromatic intensity.
Winemaking
The grapes are carefully hand-harvested and gently pressed. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to maintain freshness and purity of fruit. The wine is bottled young to preserve its vibrant character.
Tasting Note
Aromas of ripe apricot, peach, and subtle floral notes. The palate is rich yet fresh, with stone fruit flavours balanced by lively acidity and a clean, slightly creamy finish.
Food Matching
Seafood, light poultry dishes, and fresh salads. Its aromatic profile also suits mildly spiced Asian cuisine or soft cheeses.
