Producer Profile

The charming family owned estate, Tinedo, has been making wine in the heart of La Mancha since 1742.

Manuel, Esperanza and Amparo Álvarez-Arenas, have lead the pursuit of terroir-expressive wines since 2002. They have also reinforced social and agricultural sustainability in this area. The funky labels Ja! and Max! are the creative talents of Manuel, winemaker come amateur photographer. These wines are totally organic, raw, vibrant interpretations of La Mancha wines with no oak treatment to mask a pure expression of the fruit.

Viticulture

All the grapes come from the same plot within the Finca Tinedo vineyard. An organic and low-intervention viticulture is practiced, supported by a climate that allows for the exclusive use of minimal preventive treatments: sulphur twice a year and sulphur-copper once a year. Trellisage pruning system to control the shape, yield, and health of the vine.

Winemaking

Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 22ºC within a bioclimatic winery. The tanks are gently pumped over twice daily to minimize oxidation. The process begins with 5 days of cold maceration, followed by 14 days of alcoholic fermentation. All stages are carried out manually to ensure precision and care. Post-fermentation maceration continues for 7 days, after which malolactic fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks, in contact with fine lees. The wine is softly filtered prior to bottling to preserve its character and integrity.

Tasting Note

A vibrant violet hue with subtle blue undertones and moderate intensity. Fresh and refined, revealing delicate aromas of violet blossoms, ripe blueberry, and a hint of spicy liquorice. Graceful and nuanced, presenting lively flavours with a crisp, refreshing finish.
