Viticulture
An organic approach is taken on the hill of Brézé, which is south-facing, rocky, sandy-silt soil over a chalky limestone bedrock. Initial sorting in the vineyard.
Winemaking
The village-level Saumur Rouge is destemmed and fermented with indigenous yeasts in cement tanks, then aged in barrel (80% new) for 18 months before spending further time in steel tank and bottle before release. Bottled without being filtered.
Tasting Note
The nose is bright and expressive, revealing layers of dark berry fruit interwoven with elegant floral notes, particularly violet—a hallmark of classic Cabernet Franc. On the palate, it glides with a silky texture and a lifted, graceful energy, offering both finesse and charm in equal measure.
Food Matching
Pairs beautifully with roasted duck, herb-crusted lamb, or grilled pork tenderloin.
