Domaine Thomas, Sancerre Blanc, Le Pierrier, Loire, France, 2023

Producer Profile
Domaine Thomas & Fils is a family-owned estate in Sancerre, France, with a winemaking lineage dating back to 1670.
Currently managed by the 13th generation, Julien Thomas, alongside his parents Jean and Ginette, and his wife Justine, the domaine spans 16 hectares in the village of Verdigny. The estate cultivates Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir across diverse terroirs, including flinty soils (silex), Kimmeridgian limestone, and caillottes (gravelly slopes), each contributing distinct characteristics to their wines.
Viticulture
From a blend of all of the caillotes limestone pebble parcels of the domaine, where the vines average about 25 years in age. The winery’s dedication to sustainable farming fosters harmony with nature, producing wines that truly express the character of their terroir.
Winemaking
it Domaine Thomas, winemaking is kept minimal to allow the grapes’ true character to shine. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks, followed by aging on the lees for a minimum of one year to enhance minerality and add depth.

This exceptional white wine offers vibrant aromas of citrus fruits, accented by hints of gooseberry and freshly cut grass.
