Château Roquefort

Château Roquefort is a historic family-owned Bordeaux estate in the heart of Entre-deux-Mers.

Sitting between the Garonne and Dordogne rivers, not far from Saint-Émilion, the winery has been revived and shaped over the past four decades by the Bellanger family, combining deep heritage with contemporary sustainable viticulture and a commitment to quality across a broad range of Bordeaux wines.

Viticulture

The estate covers around 240 hectares, including about 85–100 hectares of vineyards planted on chalky-clay plateau and limestone slopes ideal for Bordeaux varieties. Reds are dominated by Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, while whites are mainly Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. The team focuses on sustainable viticulture and biodiversity, with careful canopy work and green harvesting to support balanced ripening.

Winemaking

Harvesting at Château Roquefort is selective, with grapes gently brought in for fermentation. Reds often see cold pre-fermentation maceration, followed by ageing in oak barrels and vats to build structure; whites are typically fermented and aged in temperature-controlled stainless steel to preserve fresh fruit aromas. The estate is actively progressing towards organic conversion and emphasises technique to reflect terroir and purity in the glass.
