Quinta de Cidrô

Quinta de Cidrô, in São João da Pesqueira, is owned by Real Companhia Velha Portugal’s oldest wine company, founded in 1756.

It’s a flagship Douro estate focused on innovative vineyard planting and varietal quality, blending tradition with modern viticulture.

Viticulture

Quinta de Cidrô has approximately 140 ha of vertically planted vineyards on schist soils at 450–600 m altitude. The climate is mild with full sun exposure. The site serves as an experimental model for the Douro region. White and red indigenous and international varieties thrive here.

Winemaking

Hand-harvested fruit is vinified using both traditional and modern techniques to craft Douro wines from varieties ranging from Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Alvarinho, Pinot Noir, Touriga, and more. The estate emphasises quality and innovation.
