Producer Profile

Bruno Murciano was born in 1979 in Caudete de las Fuentes, a town of Valencia known as being a notable place for growing Bobal of the purest expression.

He spent his childhood learning and training together with his family in a local restaurant, where he got to know the winegrowers of the area. In his twenty years of international experience as a Sommelier, Bruno has won mentions and awards and achieved recognition from colleagues as an ambassador for Spanish sommeliers worldwide. In 2010 Bruno made one of his big dreams come true and bought a magnificent vineyard in his hometown called “Las Brunas”, 6 hectares of ancient groves with 2 hectares of forest on the Northeast slope. Assisted by Bruno's brother José Luis who honed his skills in Rioja and Bierzo, the pair create incredible wines mostly from Bobal, as well as other autochthonous varieties.

Viticulture

Bruno and Jose Luís have used artisanal methods and biodynamic techniques, and very little intervention in the cellar to produce this lovely dry white, whilst following the lunar biodynamic calendar to achieve the very best results.

Winemaking

The harvest is carried out manually in 10 kg boxes, then the grapes are cold macerated at 2ºC for 3 days. Half of the juice undergoes alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks and the other half ages on its lees in French barrels that have been used for four and five years. It then ages on its lees in French oak barrels for 6 months.

Tasting Note

White autochthonous grape varieties have come together to produce an incredibly seductive white wine. White flowers, orange blossom, citrus, roasted almonds on the nose, stone fruit, vine peach, sweet citrus on the palate. Complex with good volume. Ideal for drinking young, but improves with ageing.

Food Matching

Mediterranean cuisine, fish stews, seafood stews, grilled fish, cod tripe, ajoarriero croquettes, seafood fideuá.
