Producer Profile

Laurent Tribut's journey into winemaking began when he married Marie-Clotilde Dauvissat, daughter of the esteemed Chablis producer René Dauvissat.

He spent over a decade learning from his father- and brother-in-law before founding his own estate in Poinchy in 1987, working vineyards gifted by the Dauvissat family near their premier crus. Initially producing wines in the Dauvissat cellars, Laurent later moved operations to Poinchy, continuing to craft wines true to Chablis terroir. In 2019, he retired, passing management to his three children, with Solange leading winemaking. Laurent remains involved, ensuring the estate’s wines retain their signature balance, minerality, and elegance.

Viticulture

The viticultural approach centers on respecting the terroir and promoting vine health through sustainable practices. Although the estate is not officially certified organic, it employs minimal intervention in the vineyard, including hand harvesting and careful soil management to preserve biodiversity. The team limits the use of chemical treatments and focuses on maintaining healthy, balanced vines that express the unique Kimmeridgian limestone soils of the Chablis region. This careful attention in the vineyard helps produce grapes with purity and concentration, forming the foundation for their elegant, mineral-driven wines.

Tasting Note

Richer than the straight Chablis, featuring aromas of ripe pear, white peach, and delicate floral nuances. Its mineral backbone and well-balanced acidity give the wine structure and depth, making it both accessible and expressive of its terroir.
