Mora & Memo, é Rosato Isola dei Nuraghi IGT, Sardinia, Italy, 2025
Producer Profile
The beautiful estate of Mora & Memo sits high in the hills of south-eastern Sardinia, just a few kilometres from the sea, where it is focused on growing the indigenous varieties of Cannanou and Vermentino.
The combination of old vineyards and minimal intervention with a delicate touch in the winemaking results in a range of elegant, vibrant and mineral wines that are representative of their island terroir, executed in a modern way. Now run by mother and daughter team Elicia and Leya Telani. Labels are designed by Sardinian artist Katia Marcias with themes that celebrate Sardinia’s strong matriarchal values.
Viticulture
Viticulture for Rosato Isola dei Nuraghi, IGT draws on Sardinia’s authorised red grape varieties, cultivated across the island’s diverse terrain. The designation permits rosato wines to be produced from any combination of approved red cultivars, offering growers flexibility while maintaining regional identity. These vineyardsat around 150 metres above sea level, around 30 years in age and rooted in limestone and clay soils—support balanced ripening in Sardinia’s warm climate, contributing to the fresh, floral and lightly structured character typical of Isola dei Nuraghi rosato wines.
Winemaking
White vinification with immediate separation of the skins from the must, followed by clarification of the juice. Fermentation then continues at a controlled temperature of 15°C for approximately 25 days in stainless steel tanks. A light filtration precedes bottling while the wine is still young, in order to preserve its aromas and freshness.
Tasting Note
Bright salmon colour and an aromatic profile rich with nuances of cherry, raspberry, and blackberry, with delicate floral notes and a subtle hint of salinity. Both elegant and intense, this wine achieves a harmonious balance between nose and palate. Its vibrant acidity is well-integrated, enhancing the wine’s structure.
Food matching
Recommended pairings include fried seafood, vegetables, delicate meats, and light main courses.
