CHÂTEAU LA TOUR BALADOZ, France
The vineyards are planted on a chalk/clay soil with vines averaging 30 years of age. Matured for 12-15 months in 50% new oak, the wine is rich yet restrained with a rewarding depth of fruit and finely tempered structure.
Viticulture
The vineyard is predominantly planted with Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Malbec, and Carménère. The vines, averaging 25 years in age, thrive on soils rich in limestone and clay, contributing to the wine's mineral complexity. Committed to sustainable practices, they have achieved High Environmental Value (HVE) Level 3 certification.
Winemaking
Under the guidance of cellar master Jean-Michel Garcion, who has overseen winemaking since 1992, Château Tour Baladoz employs traditional techniques to craft its wines. Grapes are hand-harvested and fermented in a combination of concrete and stainless steel vats. The wine is aged for 12 to 15 months in French oak barrels, with 60% new oak, imparting structure and depth.
