One Chain Vineyards
They work to produce wines that are inspired by a love for one of Australia’s most cherished sports – the name ‘One Chain’ being the imperial measurement for 22 yards, or the length of a cricket pitch. Even so, you really don’t need to be a connoisseur of the game to be bowled over by the restrained, elegant style of One Chain’s Chardonnay or the bright red fruit and subtle oak of its Shiraz Cabernet.
Viticulture
Fruit is sourced from a network of established vineyards across South Eastern Australia, allowing flexibility in selecting parcels that deliver ripeness and regional character. Grapes are typically machine harvested during the cooler night hours to preserve freshness, aromatics and natural acidity. This sourcing model enables consistent quality while reflecting the strengths of multiple vineyard sites and climates
Winemaking
Winemaking is focused on producing fruit‑forward, balanced styles through careful but efficient techniques. Grapes are destemmed and fermented in a combination of static and rotary vessels, with controlled temperatures and tailored cap management to extract colour, flavour and soft tannins. Maturation is largely in stainless steel to preserve freshness, resulting in wines that are vibrant, smooth and designed for immediate enjoyment.
