Quinta de Couselo
With a century‑long history, the estate is closely linked to the nearby Cistercian monastery of Santa María de Oia, reflecting a deep cultural and historical connection to the region. It is recognised as one of the long‑established benchmarks for differentiated, high‑quality wines from O Rosal.
Viticulture
The vineyards are located in the O Rosal sub‑zone of Rías Baixas, in a valley bordered by the River Miño to the south and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. This setting provides a distinctive Atlantic microclimate, with mild temperatures, abundant rainfall and sufficient sunshine hours to ensure balanced vine growth and proper grape ripening.
Winemaking
Quinta de Couselo’s winery is situated alongside its vineyards in O Rosal, enabling close control of grape quality from vine to cellar. Winemaking is oriented towards expressing the freshness, aromatic intensity and Atlantic character typical of Albariño and the O Rosal terroir, supported by continuous investment in the winery, including improvements in sustainability such as photovoltaic energy
