Pradio, VG Bianco, IGT Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy, 2025
Producer Profile
Pradio is a 35-hectare family estate in Friuli Venezia Giulia, owned by the Cielo family, whose winegrowing heritage dates back to 1908 and is now in its fourth generation.
Located near Palmanova, the estate focuses on elegant, characterful wines shaped by Friuli’s Alps–Adriatic microclimate. With SQNPI sustainable production certification and the expertise of renowned winemaker Gianni Menotti, Pradio combines family heritage, distinctive terroir and contemporary winemaking.
Viticulture
The vineyards are located in the heart of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, within the central production zone. The soils are of alluvial origin, rich in gravel (40–60%), providing excellent drainage and contributing to freshness and precision in the wines. Vines are trained using the Guyot system and planted at a density of 4,800 vines per hectare. Yields are maintained at around 100 hectolitres per hectare to preserve balance and varietal expression.
Winemaking
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by five months of maturation in steel. Throughout this period, the wine remains on its fine lees, enhancing texture, complexity and aromatic purity.
Tasting Note
