Vincent Dauvissat, Irancy, Burgundy, France ***On Allocation***, 2023

Producer Profile
Domaine Vincent Dauvissat has long been regarded as being the finest estate in Chablis.
First founded in the 1970s by Robert Dauvissat, the Domaine has remained a family affair to this day, passed down through three generations. Passed to Robert’s son, René, he played a key role in building the Domaine’s esteemed reputation, and then Vincent Dauvissat joined his father in the 1970s and now oversees the estate. A devoted following among France’s top restaurateurs keeps export quantities limited, but despite the scarcity, Dauvissat’s wines have earned acclaim from critics around the globe.
Viticulture
Irancy is a small but distinctive red wine appellation located in the northern part of Burgundy, just southwest of Chablis. It holds Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée status since 1999, though wine has been made there for centuries. Soils are a mix of Kimmeridgian limestone and clay, similar to Chablis, which gives the wines minerality and a certain firmness.
Tasting Note
This rare red bottling from Dauvissat showcases Pinot Noir grown on classic Kimmeridgian and clay soils. The result is a vibrant, lively wine bursting with tart red cherry fruit and accented by delicate notes of green spice. Elegant and fresh, with red cherry, raspberry, cranberry notes it reflects both the purity of the terroir and the precision typical of the domaine.
