Château Lafon Rochet, 4eme Cru Classe, Saint Estephe, Bordeaux, France, 2016

Viticulture
The estate's great wine comes from the oldest vines from 41 hectares of vines covering two ridges of the Saintt-Estèphe. Gravel soils provide excellent drainage, and clay regulates the water flow and provides vines with nexxessary nutrients. Château Lafon-Rochet is a wine that is both simple and complex, it expresses aromas of black fruits in the majority of vintages, there is really a fade and a particular expression of Saint-Estèphe, a certain warmth and roundness while finesse from the Merlot grape variety.
Winemaking
Harvested by hand. Fermented in concrete and stainless steel before aging in oak barrels.
Tasting Note
A definitive classic vintage. A naturally powerful structured wine with a fleshy attack, well rounded with a soft and balanced sweetness. Mid-palate is tighter and more classic. The finale is the perfect representation of the year : long, smooth and full of patience.
