Producer Profile

Albert Bichot brings to Alliance a comprehensive Burgundy portfolio spanning Chablis, the Côte de Nuits, the Côte de Beaune, the Mâconnais and Beaujolais.

With nearly 100 appellations produced across Burgundy and Beaujolais, the House offers exceptional breadth and expertise across the region. Founded in 1831, Albert Bichot is an independent, family-owned House now managed by the sixth generation, Albéric Bichot. Since then, they have consistently developed a unique position in Burgundy, combining the expertise of a historic négociant with the authenticity of its own vineyard holdings. At the heart of the Albert Bichot portfolio are its own vineyard estates, four of which are represented by Alliance and each with its own identity and terroir: Domaine Long-Depaquit one of Chablis' leading estates – 52 Ha. Domaine du Clos Frantin exceptional vineyard holdings in the Côte de Nuits – 13 Ha. Château-Gris a boutique, elegant expression of Nuits-Saint-Georges in the Côte de Nuits – 3 Ha. Domaine du Pavillon prestigious Côte de Beaune vineyards – 19 Ha. Across all four estates, the philosophy remains consistent: careful vineyard management, organic and sustainable viticulture, low intervention and precise winemaking designed to express the individual character of each site.

Viticulture

Clos Reyssié Premier Cru is located in the commune of Chaintré, the southernmost village of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation in the Mâconnais. Awarded Premier Cru status in 2020, the vineyard occupies an east-facing slope between 230 and 250 metres above sea level. The Chardonnay vines are planted in shallow calcareous clay soils with a high clay content and significant pebbly elements, contributing both richness and freshness to the wine.

Winemaking

The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully sorted before gentle pressing to preserve fruit purity and terroir expression. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in oak barrels, followed by ageing on fine lees to build complexity, texture and aromatic depth. The wine is then finished in stainless steel vats to retain freshness and precision. The wine is aged on fine lees in oak barrels for approximately 10 months, with 20% new oak. Following barrel maturation, it spends additional time in stainless steel vats, ensuring integration of the oak while preserving freshness and varietal character.

Tasting Note

Elegant and expressive, this Premier Cru Pouilly-Fuissé displays aromas of white flowers, citrus fruits and a delicate touch of honey. The palate is generous and rounded, offering excellent concentration balanced by vibrant freshness. Refined and harmonious, it finishes with impressive poise and lingering fruit character.
