Off Trade Sales Manager

South East and London

Alliance Wine has an exciting opportunity for an ambitious sales professional to join one of the UK's leading wine sales teams, working within the Independent Off Trade Channel.

 

About you

Are you currently selling to independent retailers and wholesalers in the UK? Do you thrive on building relationships, winning new business, and growing existing accounts? If you're excited by the opportunity to represent one of the UK's most respected wine portfolios and play a key role in an ambitious growth strategy, we'd love to hear from you.

We're looking for someone with at least 2 years experience in the Independent Off Trade who is commercially driven, passionate about wine, and motivated to grow both their territory and their career. We are looking for someone to take ownership of our South East territory. While you'll be responsible for developing this region, we're flexible on where you're based within the territory.

This is a home based role with regular travel across your territory, as well as to our offices in London and Scotland. There will also be opportunities to travel internationally to visit producers and deepen your knowledge of our portfolio.

The successful candidates should have:

  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience selling to independent retailers, wholesalers, or comparable UK wine trade customers
  • Strong understanding of the Independent Off Trade Channel and the needs of its customers
  • A genuine passion for wine, supported by strong commercial awareness
  • Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to create trust with a wide range of customers
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset and the confidence to challenge the status quo and deliver rapid growth
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage a sales territory and prioritise effectively
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Confidence working independently from a home base while staying closely connected to the wider team
  • Willingness to travel regularly to customers, company offices, and producer visits where required

Your key responsibilities will include the following:

  • Manage and grow sales within the Independent Off Trade Channel across an agreed territory
  • Develop strong, commercially focused relationships with independent retailers, regional wholesalers, fine wine merchants, brokers, and other relevant customers
  • Identify new business opportunities and convert them into sustainable, profitable growth
  • Represent Alliance Wine’s portfolio with confidence, credibility, and passion
  • Work closely with internal teams to deliver first-class service, sourcing solutions, and commercial support for customers
  • Build territory plans that support customer development, distribution growth, and long-term account retention
  • Maintain accurate sales planning, forecasting, and customer activity records
  • Stay close to market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs across the independent sector
  • Champion Alliance Wine’s values and contribute to a collaborative, ambitious, and positive sales culture

Salary:
Competitive, dependent on experience; plus company bonus scheme and car allowance
