Domaine Bachey Legros, Santenay Rouge, Clos des Hates Vieilles Vignes, Burgundy, France, 2022

Producer Profile
The success of this domain stems from their incredible stock of old vines that produce small yields that offer perfect grape ripeness, concentration and are deeply anchored on their rootstocks.
The wines offer power and elegance in equal measure and come from a legacy of generational winemaking from the 19th century. Domaine Bachey Legros.
Viticulture
A really lovely, classic Burgundyr. Six generations of the Bachey-Legros family have farmed this small Domaine. The old vines are in the walled Clos des Hâtes vineyard, surrounded by other Santenay Premier Cru sites planted in 1935.The low-yielding vines and the terroir they sit in make some very concentrated wines.
Tasting Note
This Pinot Noir from Domaine Bachey-Legros shows aromas of red fruit like cherry and raspberry, blackberry and currant and hints of earth and spice. The fruit flavours should carry through, joined by a lovely acidity, velvety tannins and a long finish.
