Domaine Rapet Pere et Fils, Chorey-les-Beaune, Burgundy, France, 2022

Producer Profile
Situated in Pernand-Vergelesses, between the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune in Burgundy, Domaine Rapet produces exceptional wines from vineyards surrounding the prestigious hill of Corton.
Founded in 1765, this historic family estate is now led by Vincent, who crafts wines in a modern style that are both well-vinified and true to their terroir. These wines benefit from a few years of cellaring, and the various cuvées remain attractively priced. In short, Domaine Rapet is a dependable source for both red and white Burgundy wines.
Viticulture
Grown on alluvial and gravelly soils at the foot of the Côte, the vines benefit from excellent drainage and sunlight exposure. Domaine Rapet employs sustainable viticulture, maintaining biodiversity and using minimal treatments. Grapes are hand-harvested to preserve freshness and fruit integrity.
Winemaking
Vinification is carried out with native yeasts in temperature-controlled vats, with gentle extraction to emphasise finesse over power. The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, of which around 15–20% are new, offering a touch of spice and structure without overshadowing the fruit. Light fining and filtration prior to bottling ensure clarity and purity.
Tasting Note
An inviting and supple Pinot Noir, this Chorey-lès-Beaune offers aromas of fresh red cherry, raspberry, and wild strawberry, underscored by hints of dried herbs, rose petal, and a gentle earthy note. The palate is light to medium-bodied with silky tannins and lively acidity, carrying flavours of crunchy red fruits, a touch of spice, and a clean, mineral finish.
