Feudo Antico was created on a small plot of land in the heart of Abruzzo – Italy’s smallest DOP and the first designation of its kind in the region.

Starting with the 2013 vintage, all wines are certified by Magis certified – the most advanced project for the sustainability of wine production in Italy. Currently, the 15ha are cultivated using only native varieties and with limited yields to ensure that quality is maintained. This approach is continued in the winery, where vinification includes no wood whatsoever and is restricted to concrete and glass, guaranteeing the purity of the fruit and its flavours.

Viticulture

In 2013, while preparing the soil for the first Pecorino replanting, the ruins of a Roman villa rustica were uncovered—a powerful reminder of the land’s ancient legacy. Since that moment, Feudo Antico has been devoted to preserving this historic terroir and bringing Pecorino back to life. Every vineyard site has been chosen with precision, considering the unique climate and the ideal conditions for this exceptional grape. Today, Pecorino thrives here, expressing purity, elegance, and a deep connection to its origins.

Winemaking

The wine undergoes a natural, spontaneous fermentation at approximately 16–18°C, guided solely by the native yeasts present on the grapes. It then rests for six months on its fine lees, undisturbed and without racking, in the very vessels where fermentation began. Finally, it is bottled in its most authentic form—without filtration or clarification—preserving every nuance of character and complexity.

Tasting Note

A bright lemon-yellow wine with subtle greenish highlights. The nose reveals vibrant citrus aromas and a generous, layered bouquet. On the palate, it offers crisp, saline freshness and pronounced minerality, leading to a long, aromatic finish that lingers beautifully.
