The philosophy centres on sourcing exceptional vineyard sites, harvesting at the perfect moment, and guiding the fruit gently through a natural winemaking process. Viticulture

Crafted from 100% Chenin Blanc sourced from two Chenin blanc Vineyards in the Stellenbosch region, grown on weathered Shale soils. Four separate pickings took place between the end of March and the beginning of May, targeting only the bunches perfectly infected with Noble Rot and those with raisins. The grapes were harvested at sugars ranging from 33° to 46° Brix.

Winemaking

The grapes are first hand sorted followed by whole bunch crushing into bins for a two day cold soak after which they were pressed to 228L and 400L old French oak barrels for fermentation. The fermentation stopped naturally at a perfect balance of sweetness, acidity and alcohol.

Tasting Note

The wine shows a deep golden colour. Aromas of dried apricot, quince jelly, orange blossom and a hint of ginger rise vividly from the glass. On the palate, it opens with concentrated flavours of dried peach and apricot, preserved orange and ginger snap biscuits. The mid‑palate is generous and opulent, carrying a smooth, creamy texture. This develops into a finish that is unexpectedly bright, firmly spiced and pleasantly gripping. The wine is beautifully balanced, with acidity, alcohol and sweetness in perfect harmony.

Food matching

'Kika' pairs beautifully with fresh pan-seared foie gras or foie gras pâté served on crostini with a herb salad.
