Modern slavery and human trafficking statement
1. Introduction
This statement is made by Alliance Wine Company Ltd (“Alliance Wine”) pursuant to Section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015. It sets out the steps taken to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains during the financial year ending May 2026.
Alliance Wine is committed to conducting business ethically and with integrity. We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and expect the same high standards from our suppliers and partners.
2. Our Business
Alliance Wine Company Ltd is a wine importer and distributor operating across the UK and internationally. We source wines from producers in multiple countries and supply the on-trade, independent retail, and wholesale sectors.
Our supply chain includes:
- Wine producers (vineyards and wineries)
- Bottling and packaging providers
- Logistics and transportation partners
- Warehousing and distribution providers
3. Risk Assessment
We recognise that the wine and agricultural sectors present inherent risks of modern slavery, particularly in relation to:
- Agricultural labour in vineyards
- Seasonal and migrant workers
- The use of labour agencies in certain regions
We consider geographic location, labour practices, and sector-specific risks when assessing our supply chain.
4. Due Diligence and Supplier Engagement
To mitigate these risks, we:
- Maintain long-standing relationships with trusted suppliers and producers
- Communicate our expectations regarding ethical labour practices to suppliers
- Require suppliers to adhere to applicable local employment laws and align with the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) Base Code and International Labour Organisation (ILO) conventions
- Promote transparency and responsible sourcing throughout our supply chain
We continue to review opportunities to strengthen formal supplier due diligence processes.

We will develop further measures to monitor effectiveness, including enhanced supplier engagement and risk-based review processes.
