Bodegas La Cigarrera, Moscate La Cigarrera, Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Spain, N/V
Viticulture
The Muscat grapes are grown in the warm maritime climate of Andalucía, where abundant sunshine promotes full ripeness and intense aromatic development. Proximity to the Atlantic Ocean provides cooling influences that help maintain freshness and balance in the fruit. Careful vineyard management and selective harvesting ensure optimum concentration of flavour while preserving the grape's distinctive floral and citrus character.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested at optimal maturity to maximise their aromatic potential. Gentle pressing is followed by carefully controlled fermentation to retain the expressive floral and fruit-driven characteristics of the Muscat variety. Fermentation may be arrested to preserve natural sweetness and balance, creating a wine that combines richness and perfume with freshness and elegance.
Tasting Note
Bright golden in colour with inviting aromas of orange blossom, honey, apricot and candied citrus peel. The palate is luscious yet balanced, offering flavours of ripe peach, tropical fruit and delicate floral notes, supported by refreshing acidity. Smooth and aromatic throughout, it finishes long and fragrant with hints of honey and Mediterranean citrus.
Food matching
Perfect with fruit tarts, almond pastries, crème brûlée and citrus-based desserts. It also pairs beautifully with blue cheeses, foie gras and spiced dishes, while its floral sweetness makes it an excellent match for traditional Spanish and Mediterranean desserts.
