Domaine Bonnigal-Bodet, Touraine Amboise Sec, Les Beauvoirs, Domaine de la Prévôté, Amboise, Limeray, Touraine, Loire, France, 2022

Producer Profile
The Domaine Bonnigal-Bodet is located in Limeray (Amboise), in the heart of the Loire Valley.
Having been handed down from father to son since 1927, the estate is now run by the 4th generation and long-time best friends’ Jean Baptiste Bonnigal and Stéphane Bodet, who took over together in 2015. The vineyards themselves are stretched across a large range of terroirs, with a multitude of local grape varities, including Chenin Blanc, Côt, Sauvignon Blanc and Pineau d'Aunis.
Viticulture
Sourced from sustainably managed vineyards located on tuffeau limestone soils around Amboise, which impart distinctive minerality. Domaine Bonnigal Bodet emphasizes organic or low-intervention viticulture, with hand harvesting to preserve fruit integrity and freshness.
Winemaking
The winemaking focuses on purity and freshness: grapes are gently pressed, and fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is aged on fine lees for several months to add texture while maintaining clarity and vibrancy. No oak influence is introduced to preserve the natural expression of the grape and terroir.
Tasting Note
Green apple, citrus peel, white flowers, and a touch of honey and wet stone minerality typical of Chenin’s terroir. On the palate, the wine is dry and crisp, showcasing lively acidity balanced by a textured, slightly creamy mouthfeel. Flavours of quince, lemon zest, and almond unfold into a long, mineral-driven finish.
Food Matching
Light poultry dishes and creamy sauces, goat cheese and fresh cheeses.
