Winemaking
Traditional Port vinification is followed by fortification and long-term ageing. Multiple vintages are expertly blended to achieve consistency, complexity and the distinctive Royal Oporto house style. Aged in seasoned oak casks for an average of 20 years, encouraging oxidative maturation and the development of complex nutty and caramelised characteristics.
Tasting Note
Amber tawny in colour with complex aromas of walnut, toffee, orange marmalade, dried fig and liquorice. Rich yet refined on the palate, with layers of caramelised fruit, spice and roasted nuts leading to a fresh, persistent finish.
Food matching
Crème caramel, almond tart, mature hard cheeses or dried fruit desserts.
