Producer Profile

Albert Bichot brings to Alliance a comprehensive Burgundy portfolio spanning Chablis, the Côte de Nuits, the Côte de Beaune, the Mâconnais and Beaujolais.

With nearly 100 appellations produced across Burgundy and Beaujolais, the House offers exceptional breadth and expertise across the region. Founded in 1831, Albert Bichot is an independent, family-owned House now managed by the sixth generation, Albéric Bichot. Since then, they have consistently developed a unique position in Burgundy, combining the expertise of a historic négociant with the authenticity of its own vineyard holdings. At the heart of the Albert Bichot portfolio are its own vineyard estates, four of which are represented by Alliance and each with its own identity and terroir: Domaine Long-Depaquit one of Chablis' leading estates – 52 Ha. Domaine du Clos Frantin exceptional vineyard holdings in the Côte de Nuits – 13 Ha. Château-Gris a boutique, elegant expression of Nuits-Saint-Georges in the Côte de Nuits – 3 Ha. Domaine du Pavillon prestigious Côte de Beaune vineyards – 19 Ha. Across all four estates, the philosophy remains consistent: careful vineyard management, organic and sustainable viticulture, low intervention and precise winemaking designed to express the individual character of each site.

Viticulture

Produced from Gamay grown in the renowned Fleurie Cru of Beaujolais, this wine comes from vineyards planted on pink granitic soils with piedmont alluvial deposits. The La Madone climat sits on the slopes of the Fleurie hill beneath the historic Chapel of the Madonna, one of the region's most celebrated vineyard sites. This distinctive terroir contributes finesse, aromatic complexity and elegance to the wine.

Winemaking

The grapes undergo fermentative maceration in temperature-controlled open vats for 9 to 12 days, allowing gentle extraction of colour, flavour and structure. This approach preserves the delicate floral aromatics and bright fruit character that have made Fleurie one of the most admired Crus of Beaujolais. No oak ageing is used. The wine is matured in stainless steel vats for 8 to 9 months, helping to retain the purity of fruit, floral complexity and freshness that define the Fleurie style.

Tasting Note

Elegant and perfumed, this Fleurie offers aromas of iris, carnation, strawberry and raspberry, complemented by subtle hints of nutmeg and minerality. The palate is fleshy and beautifully balanced, combining vibrant red fruit with freshness and finesse. A long, fragrant finish highlights the wine's delicacy and charm.

Food matching

Perfect with duck rillettes, herb-roast chicken, pork tenderloin and creamy Saint-Nectaire cheese.
