DOMAINE LONG-DEPAQUIT, France
A stroll through the estate’s grounds, which boast centuries-old trees and a rose garden, offers a unique, timeless experience. The Domaine’s is spread across 34 distinct plots, planted on gently sloping hillsides with gradients ranging from 5% to 20%. These varied exposures create a patchwork of terroirs, each contributing unique qualities to the wine. By vinifying each plot separately, the individual characteristics of each terroir are preserved, adding depth and complexity to the final blend.
Viticulture
An exceptional 52.1 hectare HVE3 certified site, the Kimmeridgian limestone subsoil vineyards benefit from a sustainable approach to viticulture. Limiting yields from the 40 year old vines and keeping interventions to a minimum during the vinification process help create authentic, mineral, elegant wines.
Winemaking
A new winery was built at the estate in 2014. Not only is it more eco-friendly, it also allows us to continue to improve the quality of our wines by giving them more purity and precision. Barrel ageing is used in moderation to best preserve the expression of each terroir.
