Producer Profile

Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot is a distinguished family-run winery located in Vosne-Romanée, at the heart of Burgundy's Côte de Nuits.

Established in 1964 through the union of the Confuron and Cotetidot families—both with deep-rooted viticultural traditions dating back to the 17th century—the estate now spans approximately 11 hectares of esteemed vineyards, including Grand Cru, Premier Cru, and Village appellations

Viticulture

Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot practices organic viticulture, abstaining from synthetic herbicides and pesticides. They favour traditional vineyard management techniques, including regular plowing and short pruning, to maintain low yields between 35-45 hl/ha. This approach not only respects the environment but also enhances the expression of terroir in their wines .

Winemaking

The entire winemaking process is carried out with a strong focus on quality and authenticity. The fermentation is carried out with native yeasts to preserve the natural expression of the fruit, and the wine is aged in French oak barrels, a practice that lends depth and complexity while honoring the intrinsic character of the Pinot Noir.

Tasting Note

The Lavaut Saint-Jacques vineyard is known for its slightly leaner style of wine compared to the neighboring Clos Saint-Jacques, due to a cool wind that funnels into the vineyard. Raspberry, black cherry, earth like notes as well as a touch of oak are complemented by an elegant structure and fine well balanced tannins and acidity.

Food Matching

Red meats, game, and strong cheeses, especially those with a creamy or washed rind.
