Producer Profile

Founded in 1920 and based in Damery, in the heart of Champagne's three key vineyard areas, Champagne Lenoble is an independent, family-led Champagne house with more than a century of history.

The house has built its reputation on a commitment to craftsmanship, excellence and authenticity, with values passed down through successive generations. In 2023, Champagne Lenoble entered a new chapter when it was acquired by the Frère-Gallienne family, whose passion for fine wine continues to drive the estate's pursuit of quality and innovation. Lenoble's philosophy is rooted in the belief that Champagne is the noblest of wines. Through limited production, meticulous attention to detail and a dedication to creating "Grands Vins de Champagne", the house has earned the respect of both connoisseurs and discerning wine lovers around the world.

Viticulture

This champagne is produced exclusively from Grand Cru Chardonnay grown in the renowned village of Chouilly in the Côte des Blancs. The chalk-rich soils and exceptional terroir of this prestigious cru provide the wine with its hallmark elegance, finesse and mineral character, allowing the purity of Chardonnay to shine through.

Winemaking

Crafted from 100% wines from the 2012 harvest, this vintage champagne begins with traditional pressing and vinification in tanks to preserve freshness and precision. The wines are aged in a combination of tanks and 228-litre oak barrels, adding texture and complexity while maintaining balance. The cuvée is then matured on its lees for more than 10 years in the house's historic cellars, developing remarkable depth and refinement. Finished with an Extra Brut dosage of 3g/L, the wine combines richness, freshness and exceptional ageing character.

Tasting Note

A single-origin champagne from a single harvest year, offering a singular, authentic personality. The nose opens with inviting toasty notes, layered with honey, candied apricot and fresh hazelnut. On the palate, candied citrus fruits are complemented by hints of aniseed and menthol, delivering both freshness and complexity. The finish is refined and elegant, revealing the cuvée's promising depth and ageing potential.

Food matching

Shellfish (lobster Armoricaine style), fish (turbot in a salt crust), meat (poultry in a white sauce, veal escalope in a cream sauce).
