Producer Profile

Founded in 1920 and based in Damery, in the heart of Champagne's three key vineyard areas, Champagne Lenoble is an independent, family-led Champagne house with more than a century of history.

The house has built its reputation on a commitment to craftsmanship, excellence and authenticity, with values passed down through successive generations. In 2023, Champagne Lenoble entered a new chapter when it was acquired by the Frère-Gallienne family, whose passion for fine wine continues to drive the estate's pursuit of quality and innovation. Lenoble's philosophy is rooted in the belief that Champagne is the noblest of wines. Through limited production, meticulous attention to detail and a dedication to creating "Grands Vins de Champagne", the house has earned the respect of both connoisseurs and discerning wine lovers around the world.

Viticulture

This champagne is produced from vineyards across the Côte des Blancs, Grande Vallée de la Marne and Vallée de la Marne, blending Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. 55% comes from the 2017 harvest with the remainder from reserve wines which are held in magnum under cork.

Winemaking

The assemblage combines 55% harvest wines with an exceptional 45% reserve wines, adding depth, consistency and complexity. Wines are matured in stainless steel vats, with 10% aged in oak barrels and a further 10% in cork-sealed magnums to enhance texture and character. Following 42 months of ageing, the wine is finished with a low dosage of 2g/L, resulting in a refined Extra Brut style that balances freshness, precision and richness.

Tasting Note

Intense golden yellow with slight silvery highlights. The effervescence is very refined, forming a delicate and persistent string of bubbles, a sign of controlled aging. Expressive and complex, blending notes of white fruit (apple, pear) and citrus with warmer touches of brioche and sweet spices, inherited from the aging of reserve wines. On the palate, the attack is lively and precise. The wine reveals a silky and full-bodied texture, typical of the Magnum format. There are aromas of yellow fruit, crushed blackcurrant, and a hint of fresh ginger. The finish is long, salty, and thirst-quenching.

Food matching

Gougères, mackerel rillettes, sea bream ceviche with citrus, veal with tuna sauce (vitello tonnato), monkfish tail with beurre blanc, beef carpaccio with capers and parmesan, thin tart with damson plums.
