Champagne Lenoble, Vendange Collection Dosage Zero V19, Champagne, France, N/V
Producer Profile
Founded in 1920 and based in Damery, in the heart of Champagne's three key vineyard areas, Champagne Lenoble is an independent, family-led Champagne house with more than a century of history.
The house has built its reputation on a commitment to craftsmanship, excellence and authenticity, with values passed down through successive generations. In 2023, Champagne Lenoble entered a new chapter when it was acquired by the Frère-Gallienne family, whose passion for fine wine continues to drive the estate's pursuit of quality and innovation. Lenoble's philosophy is rooted in the belief that Champagne is the noblest of wines. Through limited production, meticulous attention to detail and a dedication to creating "Grands Vins de Champagne", the house has earned the respect of both connoisseurs and discerning wine lovers around the world.
Viticulture
Sourced from vineyards across the Côte des Blancs, Grande Vallée de la Marne and Vallée de la Marne, this champagne blends 20% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir and 40% Meunier. These renowned Champagne terroirs contribute elegance, structure and fruit intensity, combining the freshness of Chardonnay with the depth of Pinot Noir and the generous fruit character of Meunier. 52% of the blend is from the 2019 harvest.
Winemaking
This cuvée is composed of 52% wines from the harvest and 48% reserve wines, including a proportion aged in cork-sealed magnums to enhance complexity and texture. The wines are matured in tanks and wooden vats, with 20% aged in wood and a further 10% in magnums under cork. Following an extended ageing period of 60 months, the champagne is bottled with zero dosage, creating a pure, precise expression that showcases both freshness and depth.
Tasting Note
The nose opens with ripe and stewed orchard fruits, including mirabelle plum, pear and roasted pineapple, layered with hints of toasted bread and grilled almonds from the reserve wines. The palate is fresh and crisp, driven by a fine mousse, with subtle spice, citrus notes and a long, elegant finish.
Food matching
Soft-boiled egg, butternut squash velouté with burrata and Colonnata lard, grilled tuna fillet with crispy vegetables, slow-cooked creamy chicken supreme, creamy vanilla rice pudding, pear crumble.
