Champagne Lenoble, Vendange Collection Extra Brut V21, Champagne, France, N/V
Producer Profile
Founded in 1920 and based in Damery, in the heart of Champagne's three key vineyard areas, Champagne Lenoble is an independent, family-led Champagne house with more than a century of history.
The house has built its reputation on a commitment to craftsmanship, excellence and authenticity, with values passed down through successive generations. In 2023, Champagne Lenoble entered a new chapter when it was acquired by the Frère-Gallienne family, whose passion for fine wine continues to drive the estate's pursuit of quality and innovation. Lenoble's philosophy is rooted in the belief that Champagne is the noblest of wines. Through limited production, meticulous attention to detail and a dedication to creating "Grands Vins de Champagne", the house has earned the respect of both connoisseurs and discerning wine lovers around the world.
Viticulture
This champagne is produced from vineyards across the Côte des Blancs, Grande Vallée de la Marne and Vallée de la Marne, blending 30% Chardonnay, 15% Pinot Noir and 55% Pinot Meunier. 49% comes from the 2021 harvest with the remainder from reserve wines which are held in magnum under cork.
Winemaking
The assemblage combines 49% harvest wines with an exceptional 51% reserve wines, adding depth, consistency and complexity. Wines are matured in stainless steel vats, with 10% aged in oak barrels and a further 10% in cork-sealed magnums to enhance texture and character. Following 42 months of ageing, the wine is finished with a low dosage of 3g/L, resulting in a refined Extra Brut style that balances freshness, precision and richness.
Tasting Note
The nose offers delicate aromas of pear, apple and fresh grape, lifted by hints of acacia blossom. Notes of brioche and fresh pastry add complexity, while the palate reveals vibrant citrus, particularly yellow grapefruit. A fine mousse brings elegance and freshness, with reserve wines adding balance and roundness to the cuvée's naturally crisp profile.
Food matching
Gougères, mackerel rillettes, sea bream ceviche with citrus, veal with tuna sauce (vitello tonnato), monkfish tail with beurre blanc, beef carpaccio with capers and parmesan, thin tart with damson plums.
