Champagne Lenoble, Vendange Collection Blanc De Blancs Grand Cru V20, Champagne, France, N/V
Producer Profile
Founded in 1920 and based in Damery, in the heart of Champagne's three key vineyard areas, Champagne Lenoble is an independent, family-led Champagne house with more than a century of history.
The house has built its reputation on a commitment to craftsmanship, excellence and authenticity, with values passed down through successive generations. In 2023, Champagne Lenoble entered a new chapter when it was acquired by the Frère-Gallienne family, whose passion for fine wine continues to drive the estate's pursuit of quality and innovation. Lenoble's philosophy is rooted in the belief that Champagne is the noblest of wines. Through limited production, meticulous attention to detail and a dedication to creating "Grands Vins de Champagne", the house has earned the respect of both connoisseurs and discerning wine lovers around the world.
Viticulture
This Blanc de Blancs is crafted exclusively from 100% Chardonnay, a variety prized for its elegance, freshness and mineral character. The Chardonnay fruit provides the foundation for a refined and expressive champagne, combining vibrant citrus notes with finesse and precision. 45% of the wine is from the 2020 harvest with the remainder from reserve wines.
Winemaking
The blend combines 45% wines from the harvest with 55% reserve wines, creating depth, complexity and consistency of style. The wines are aged in stainless steel vats, with 20% matured in oak foudres and a small proportion aged in cork-sealed magnums to enhance texture and complexity. Following 54 months of maturation, the champagne is finished with a low dosage of 2g/L, resulting in a poised Extra Brut style that showcases purity, freshness and balance.
Tasting Note
An exceptional cuvée made exclusively from Chardonnay Grand Cru from the Côte des Blancs, with a toasty, floral character. The nose opens with yeasty notes of fresh bread crumb, layered with citrus, mint and subtle hints of fresh hazelnut. The palate is crisp and focused, showcasing lime and grapefruit flavours supported by a fine, creamy mousse. A saline, lightly spicy finish adds length and precision.
Food matching
Oysters, scallop carpaccio, creamy chicken supreme, lemon meringue tart, champagne sabayon.
